When tasked with updating a longtime client’s condominium in Chicago’s Gold Coast, Lauren and her team collaborated with architect studioCJF.inc, along with Design Construction Concepts, to bring the vision to life.
Though rooted in tradition, the reimagined Gold Coast residence now embraces a lighter, more refined palette. Jacobean-ebony stained walnut floors ground the space, offering a rich contrast to the soft, luminous backdrop where modern silhouettes are thoughtfully balanced with classical detailing and tactile materiality. Contemporary furnishings are gently tempered to harmonize with the client’s collection of vintage objects, while custom-designed pieces in dark walnut and silver leaf provide a striking juxtaposition to the curvilinear elegance found throughout.
Lauren, who designed much of the furniture and window treatments, loved incorporating her client’s leanings towards soft, traditional tones and her deep appreciation for birds and vintage Tang Dynasty horses.
The home is a beautifully curated reflection of the client’s personality and passions, where every detail tells her story.
